There are approximately 105 different species of lilies in the world. Lilium bolanderi S. Wats., more commonly known as Bolander’s Lily, is a rare species of predominantly red lily found only in northern California and southern Oregon. The plant is native to the United State and is a perennial. In southern Oregon, Bolander’s Lily is found in the Siskiou Mountains, close to the Rogue Valley and Applegate Valley Appellations where the tempranillo grapes for Red Lily are grown.
